Executive Summary

RailSafe Group Ltd recognises the critical importance of acting to mitigate the effects of climate change. This detailed plan outlines our commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050, following a series of intermediate targets. The plan covers strategies encompassing energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste reduction, transportation, and education.

In alignment with our responsibility to our environment and community, we are devoted to significantly reducing our carbon emissions and promoting sustainability and achieving net zero by 2050.

Our main objective is to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. Interim targets include a 25% reduction by 2025, a 50% reduction by 2030, and a 75% reduction by 2040. We aim to achieve 100% net zero emissions by 2050.

This plan accounts for all Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions that arise from energy consumption, waste generation, and transportation associated.

Short-term Target
Reduction of 25% (18.75 tCO2e by 2025)

Medium-term Target
Reduction of 50% (37.5 tCO2e) by 2030

Long-term Target
Reduction of 75% (56.25 tCO2e) by 2040

Ultimate Target

        Engagement and Education

  • Incorporate sustainability and climate change education into the curriculum.
  • Involve the community in sustainability initiatives and campaigns.

Monitoring and Reporting

Monitoring

Regular monitoring of energy consumption, waste generation, and transportation emissions will help us track our progress towards our targets. Overseen by nominated Sustainability and NZE Champion. Reporting progress against internal EMS and NZE plan quarterly to the board.

Reporting (2023)

Total Scope 1 Emissions: 13 tCO2e (13.33% reduction)

Total Scope 2 Emissions: 25 tCO2e (16.67% reduction)

Total Scope 3 Emissions: 27 tCO2e (10% reduction)

Total Reporting Year Emissions: 65 tCO2e (13.33% overall reduction)

We will share these results with stakeholders annually and adjust our strategies as needed.
